Hey. I'm Violet — a software engineer, homeschool mom, and the kind of person who reads ingredient labels at the grocery store while my toddler tries to escape the cart.

Violet

I started this blog because I kept telling friends the same stuff over and over: which organic kids' clothes actually survived my son, which "natural" cleaners were basically expensive water, and which snack recipes my three-year-old would eat without a hostage negotiation. Eventually someone said "you should write this down," so here we are.

What This Is (and Isn't)

This is a place where I share what actually works for our family. Honest product reviews, recipes we make on repeat, homeschool ideas that don't require a Pinterest board and three hours of prep.

This isn't a polished lifestyle brand. I'm not going to pretend my house looks like a catalog or that I have it all figured out. Some weeks we do nature hikes and bake from scratch. Other weeks it's cereal for dinner and pajamas until noon. Both are fine.

I'm not a doctor, nutritionist, or influencer. Just a mom who got tired of buying stuff that didn't work and figured other parents might want to skip the trial and error.

What You'll Find Here

Product reviews that are actually honest. I'll tell you what held up and what fell apart after two washes. Organic kids' clothing, non-toxic cleaning products, self-care stuff for moms who have maybe ten minutes. If something's not worth the money, I'll say so.

Recipes that are realistic. Quick, kid-approved, no obscure ingredients. The kind of food you can make during a homeschool day without losing your mind.

Homeschool and nature stuff. We're a nature-first family. I'll share how we weave outdoor time into learning, screen-free activity ideas, and what's worked for building resilience in a kid who'd rather climb a tree than sit at a desk. Same, honestly.

A Little About Us

I write code for a living. My husband left his career in education to stay home and give our son the best education possible — so we homeschool as a team. We split our time between the desert and the Pacific Northwest, which means our "nature classroom" changes with the seasons. My kid thinks bugs are fascinating and mud is a food group. I drink too much herbal tea and have opinions about laundry detergent.

That's the vibe. If it sounds like your kind of thing, stick around.
